Community Visitors Scheme

Volunteers provide companionship to people who are socially isolated and live in an aged care home or receive a home care package in their own home.- Phone 4194 3000

TransComCare

TransComCare is a Community Transport program operating and sponsored by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre available for the frail, the aged, people with a disability and their carers who find it difficult to use public transport or have no other means of transport. The service is available to take clients to doctors, dentists, hospital appointments, shopping and to social activities.

Door to door transport is provided for the frail aged or younger people with a disability and their Carers who are eligible to access the service

Focus on Friendship

Focus on Friendship Social Group for Seniors is held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9.30 – 11.30 am;
Local and visiting seniors are invited to meet at the Urangan Community Centre on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for bright and cheerful social gatherings with good food and entertainment.  The centre is wheelchair friendly with disabled parking, disabled toilet, access ramp and wide doorways.  Everyone is welcome to attend and carers are invited to join in activities. 

Musicians and speakers volunteer their time for the entertainment and enjoyment of the group, with meals prepared by Urangan Community Centre catering volunteers. 

Fees apply, with raffles and lucky door prizes available.
