What Do We Do?

Our Intensive Family Support Program is designed for parents/caregivers, and their children. We work with families to provide intensive and extended support to improve the wellbeing of your children and family.

The Intensive Family Support (IFS) service provides a consent based service which responds to vulnerable families with children and young people (unborn—18 years) who are at high risk of involvement in the statutory child protection system. The IFS multidisciplinary team works collaboratively with families to identify and prioritise their presenting needs and provides intensive case management and engagement with specialist services.

Families referred to IFS services will have ongoing multiple and/or complex needs which may include:

  • Substance misuse
  • Domestic and family violence
  • Limited parenting skills
  • Homelessness
  • Mental health issues
  • Employment needs
  • Financial and material support needs
  • Legal/justice advocacy and support
